Researches

,,The Smart Farm’s research portfolio brings together development projects that address real challenges in agriculture and deliver scalable, industry-relevant solutions.”

Cross-border networking of Operational Groups to improve farmers’ capacity to assess, adopt and integrate smart crop production technologies.

Smart crop production technologies enable farmers to optimise inputs and adapt cultivation practices to the specific needs of crops. Well-organised, farmer-focused, multi-actor advisory systems and networks can play a crucial role in helping farmers understand and apply smart farming methods and technologies.

Research and development of innovative green technologies for carbon neutrality

The aim of the project is to promote carbon neutrality through the development of new types of seeds and seed mixtures featuring innovative coatings developed within the framework of the project.

Development of a microgranulated starter fertiliser containing arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculum to promote sustainable nutrient management practices

The project aims to develop a combined microgranulated fertiliser containing diverse AMF inocula, currently unavailable on the Hungarian or EU input markets.

The overarching goal of trans4num is to establish and widely support the application of nature-based solutions in sustainable agriculture in the EU and China, with a particular focus on nutrient management.

New governance models to improve nutrient pollution management and nutrient recovery

The project will develop new governance and value-chain solutions focusing on manure, sewage sludge and dairy wastewater, with a combined annual volume of approximately 1.4 billion tonnes.

Development of the Bábolna-Multicolor (BMC) meat hybrid suitable for the production of premium-quality poultry meat with low environmental impact

The project aims to develop a novel, robust meat hybrid (Bábolna-Multicolor: BMC) with optimised growth, a muscle fibre structure different from that of commonly used fast-growing broilers, providing superior meat quality, high resilience, and suitability for rearing in accordance with the general requirements of The Better Chicken Commitment (BCC).

Production of embryonated hen eggs optimised for vaccine production using specialised genetic breeding stocks

The project aims to develop vaccine eggs optimised for natural immune response, increased allantoic content and high virus yield, using specially selected high-performing breeding stocks.

Establishment of a European-wide livestock advisory network embedded in AKIS ecosystems

The main objective of LiveNet is to establish and build capacity within advisory service networks across the EU, enhance knowledge exchange among advisors and AKIS actors, and promote farmer uptake of innovative solutions for sustainable livestock production.

Research and development of a health-promoting product family with prebiotic and synbiotic properties based on the biotechnological conversion of meat industry by-products

The project aims to develop sustainable functional meat products through the innovative reuse of by-products, in line with current trends and modern nutritional science research.

The project aims to mobilise the EU agricultural advisory community to accelerate the adoption of Climate Smart Farming practices within and through AKIS.

A unique pan-European network of demonstration farms covering 28 countries and all pedo-climatic zones, aiming to accelerate the uptake of Climate Smart Farming practices.

The project develops user-friendly methods and tools with farmers and AKIS actors to document the co-benefits and costs of technologies applied under real farming conditions.

Overcoming Digital Divide in Europe and Southeast Asia

The project focuses on collaboration between educators and doctoral students engaged in digitalisation research, knowledge transfer and joint research activities, while expanding career opportunities under the framework of COVID-19 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
